Mt. Paektu is the cradle of the Korean revolution.
It is closely related to the history of pioneering the Korean revolution and its victorious advance and to the strong spirit and tradition of heroic struggle of the Korean people.
The foundation of the strong spirit of the Korean people was laid during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.
In the first half of the last century, the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, the first generation of the Korean revolution, created the revolutionary spirit of the Paektu under the guidance of the great leader Kim Il Sung.
The revolutionary spirit of the Paektu is the spirit of the noblest loyalty with resolute defence of the leader as its life and soul; it is the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude to overcome all the difficulties with one’s own efforts; it is the indomitable fighting spirit to rise up again no matter how many times one may fall down to vigorously fight for the victory of the revolution.
The revolutionary spirit of the Paektu displayed the great attraction and vitality in the whole historic course of the Korean revolution.
The Korean people drove out the brigandish Japanese imperialists in the revolutionary spirit of the Paektu, accomplishing the historic cause of national liberation on August 15, 1945. And in the 1950s they won a victory in the three-year hard-fought war against the US imperialists and powerfully demonstrated the mettle of heroic Korea and people all over the world.
After the war, they also made a remarkable progress in all fields of the revolution and construction while bringing about the great Chollima upsurge and opening up a great heyday in the era of the Workers’ Party with their strong spirit of national independence and indomitable fighting spirit.
The revolutionary spirit of the Paektu enabled them to change Korea, once eclipsed on the world map, into a country of working miracles, a rich and powerful socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defense.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ensured that the entire people across the country carry forward the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu created in the blizzards of the Paektu and in the flames of the anti-Japanese war.
Going round the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu in December 2019, Kim Jong Un said:
Everything changes and the generations are replaced with another along with the lapse of time. However, Mt. Paektu is still standing majestically. Here in the Paektu I feel new enthusiasm for revolution and struggle flowing into my body and mind and have a fresh will.
He stressed the need to launch another intensive drive of the whole Party to arm the people with the revolutionary spirit through the study tour to the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu.
True to his noble intention, the Korean people keep making study tour to the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu.
They will glorify the revolutionary spirit of the Paektu as the eternal spirit of Korea and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche in firm unity around Kim Jong Un.
