On the Occasion of the 81st Founding Anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea Journey of Devotion for the People

October 10, 2026 marks the 81st founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The WPK, during its longest rule in the history of socialism, has applied the people first principle, valuing the people and devoting everything for their wellbeing.

President Kim Il Sung, founder of the Party, regarding “The people are my God” as his motto, built the Party into a mass-based party and ensured that all its activities were oriented to meeting the demands and interests of the masses of the people.

Carrying forward his intentions, Chairman Kim Jong Il led the Party to be strengthened and developed into a party that assumed full responsibility for the destiny of the masses and took care of them, thus forming inseparable ties of kinship with them.

Today, led by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, its General Secretary, the Party is further developing into the one making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people. He continues his journey of devoted service for the people with an ennobling view on life that he has nothing more to wish for, even though his body may be scattered like grains of sand on the road for the good of the people.

Visiting various parts of the country, he ensures that new streets, villages and factories, modern hospitals and bases for cultural and leisure activities are built there. When an unexpected public health crisis hit the country, he proposed emergency anti epidemic measures and methods and defended the people’s lives and safety by devoting his heart and soul day and night.

As he finds his pleasure and happiness on the road of devoted service for the people, the revolutionary spirit of making selfless, devoted service for the people prevails throughout the Party. Therefore, the Korean people call the Party a motherly party and place absolute trust in it.
