The Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea issued decree No. 2017 on the 26th on granting an amnesty on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
The decree said:
The WPK our great people believe in and follow as heaven is the genuine motherly Party that has taken the responsibility for the destiny and future of the people and invariably made selfless, devoted efforts for their good over the past 80 years since its foundation, and the invincible Party that has formed an integral whole with the masses of the people.
It is an unshakable will of the WPK and the DPRK government to cherish the absolute trust of the people in the Party as the greatest wealth of the revolution and build the most prosperous and powerful country which realizes all dreams and ideals of the people with the might of the single-hearted unity, the irresistible force of Juche Korea.
The decree noted that an amnesty will be granted to those, who were found guilty of their crimes against the country and the people, on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK.
