Without Missing Anyone
In 2024, a Japanese media outlet carried an article titled “11 Months from Earthquake in Noto Peninsula, Growing Unease at Winter”, which said:
“11 months have passed since the earthquake in Noto Peninsula. Residents in the afflicted area in Ishikawa Prefecture revealed their unease at the cold and snow of winter. A region in the city of Wajima was seriously hit by downpour after earthquake. Its inhabitants had to take meals shivering with cold.
An 82-year old resident whose house had leaned to one side due to the earthquake said with uneasiness: ‘A lot of houses were damaged. I am worried that my house might not stand heavy snow.'”
But what did the world see when the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was hit by flood in July 2024?
An air rescue operation was conducted in the flood-prone zones of North Phyongan Province on July 28, 2024, in which ten-odd helicopters made over 20 rounds of shuttle flights to rescue more than 4,200 people.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un guided the rescue operation on the spot.
It was his special order to rescue all the people without fail.
Hearing the pilots’ report on the execution of their mission at the end of several flights, Kim Jong Un said tens of people were still remaining and gave a task to rescue them.
He praised the commander of the helicopter group who rescued tens of people on the spot and said again that he still felt insecure about a region and he was pursued by uneasiness.
For him, the flood victims were his flesh and blood and inseparable heaven-like beings.
So were the pilots involved in the rescue operation.
Kim Jong Un guided the rescue operation to the end at the airport, exposing himself to the cold rain. Hearing the commander’s report that they rescued all the people, he asked again for final confirmation if there was no more before feeling relieved.
None of the people isolated in the flooded areas got injured.
Though they lost their houses, nobody sought asylum and worried about their future.
Afterwards, more than 13,000 flood victims received special benefits at the April 25 Hostel in Pyongyang for 130 days until new houses were built for them according to the special measures taken by Kim Jong Un.
Children of the flood victims learned to their heart’s content in the classrooms prepared in the hostel.
No flood victims were excluded from the treatment of the mobile medical team composed of able medical staff.
When the flood victims enjoyed all blessings in Pyongyang, Kim Jong Un formed a powerful commanding force for the damage rehabilitation campaign and guided the project in the van continuing his journey of devotion for the people’s well-being.
Later, the flood victims, together with more than 50 babies born in a little over four months, greeted the new year with pleasure in the ideal “cultured country towns” and mountain villages which had undergone a radical change.
The policy of a country concerned is reflected in the rescue of calamity-stricken people and damage rehabilitation.
