KFA UK rejects Attempts by Wrexham council to ban freedom of expression and free speech

London 18th of September 2025

The Korean Friendship Association of the UK issued the following statement denouncing the article on the Wrexham.com website “Council Leader says North Korea ‘literature and discussions’ in Ty Pawb was ‘unacceptable” which appeared on the 15th of September .

We were not given the right to reply to the article .

We would point out the following facts ;

In actual fact it was not a “pop up stall ” but in  the fact the KFA UK stall at the Wrexham Socialist Bookfair and we were invited to participate .

We had previously had participated twice in a similar event in Liverpool , the Merseyside Marxist Bookfair without any problems or issues with the local authority .

The leader of Wrexham council and Wrexham.com have based their reports ramblings from one or possibly two or three individuals.

So Wrexham council is trying to ban KFA UK in Wrexham ! This is a totally arrogant and dictatorial attitude .  KFA UK totally rejects this attack on free speech and the freedom of expression ! What is shows that the establishment and the elite in Britain do not want people finding the truth out about People’s Korea , it is as simple as that  . We will continue to defend People’s Korea with No Ifs or Buts ! Support KFA UK  , accept no substitutes !
