The dignity of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea shining all over the world is associated with the immortal exploits of the great leader Kim Jong Il who laid the eternal foundation for the prosperity of socialist Korea by devoting all his life.
Kim Jong Il wisely led the revolution and construction with his outstanding ideas and extraordinary leadership even in the vortex of rapidly-changing situations in the 20th and 21st centuries.
Genius of Ideology and Theory
Kim Jong Il gave scientific answers to all the theoretical and practical problems arising in the revolution and construction with his clairvoyant wisdom and unusual insight.
He formulated the revolutionary idea of the great leader Kim Il Sung as Kimilsungism and developed it in depth. It was a political event which provided the banner of victory, a guiding ideology to be held fast to in the struggle for hastening the final victory of the socialist cause, the independent cause of the masses of the people.
Kim Jong Il put forward original ideas and theories including the idea on the building of a revolutionary party of Juche and on the single-minded unity, the theory on building a powerful socialist country and the strategic line of attaching importance to ideology, arms and science and technology. Those ideas and theories most correctly reflect the aspirations of the Korean people and the demand of the developing times.
Thanks to Kim Jong Il, the genius of ideology and theory, socialism of Korean style could constantly advance even at the time of ideological upheaval when the world socialist movement suffered turns and twists due to revisionist degeneration and dogmatic stagnation of its guiding ideology and despite the harsh trials of the Arduous March in the mid-1990s.
In the days of his revolutionary leadership Kim Jong Il made public a lot of works such as “The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party” and “Socialism Is a Science”. Those works are considered to be great programmes for socialist construction today, too, for their rich, profound, original and scientific ideas and theories.
Thanks to Kim Jong Il, the historical limitations of the preceding socialist theories were overcome, new ideas and theories including the Juche-oriented view of man’s position and role and the socio-historical principles centred on the masses of the people formulated and the scientific accuracy and invincibility of Korean-style socialism powerfully demonstrated.
The ideas and theories of Kim Jong Il were the militant banner that enabled the Korean revolution to advance along the road of socialism without deviation even in the gust of history.
Outstanding Leader
In the initial period of his revolutionary leadership Kim Jong Il advanced the slogan “Let’s unite around the leader!”. He set it as the general goal of the party building to model the whole Party on Kimilsungism and opened a new history of building the leader’s party.
Under his leadership the Workers’ Party of Korea could demonstrate its dignity as a revolutionary Party with firm ideological system of the leader and the system of his leadership and as an invincible Party with iron discipline and fighting efficiency.
Kim Jong Il regarded it as the fundamental principle of our Party building to achieve the perfect unity with the masses of the people and embraced and led all people in this country with his noble benevolent politics and all-embracing politics so that they could take the road of revolution.
As the unity and cohesion of the revolutionary ranks with the leader as the one and only centre were firmly cemented, the political stability of our state and society could be definitely ensured and the revolution and construction advance victoriously despite manifold difficulties.
The solid foundation of self-support and self-defence laid by Kim Jong Il with his do-or-die will is a precious asset for sustainable and overall development of our state.
Since he regarded the self-reliant defence upbuilding and the self-supporting economy construction as a fatal problem deciding life or death and as the most important of state affairs, Kim Jong Il pushed ahead with the work to further strengthen the independence and modernity of the defence industry and lay the economic foundation at the same time while directing primary efforts to preparing the People’s Army as the driving force of national defence and the main force of the revolution.
Thanks to the painstaking efforts of Kim Jong Il who found himself on the dangerous road to the front and steep cliffs and on the sea route with raging waves singing to himself the song that though no one knows my mind, I’ll go along this road with hope, the Korean People’s Army could grow to be an invincible revolutionary army, our defence industry be strengthened and developed into a powerful Juche-oriented one that makes anything when determined and the great national-historic cause of possessing nukes be accomplished.
Kim Jong Il trained the Korean people as those with strong confidence, stubborn offensive spirit and bold spirit of creation.
Under his wise leadership the work to make the national economy Juche-oriented, modern and scientific was powerfully promoted during the Arduous March in the mid-1990s when others would have fallen down many a time and thus the might of the self-supporting economy was further strengthened and firm potentials for improving the people’s living were provided such as bases of light industry, stockbreeding, pomiculture and pisciculture.
Kim Jong Il made field guidance tour of covering the distance of more than 669,844 kilometres which is equivalent to nearly 17 rounds of the earth to visit over 14,290 units across the country in the whole period of his revolutionary life for national prosperity and happiness of the people.
Under his energetic leadership the torch of new great revolutionary upsurge flared up on this land and the people’s dream and ideal were realized.
The patriotic achievements made by Kim Jong Il will shine for all ages along with the victorious advance of socialist Korea.
