November 16 is Mother’s Day in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

When the day comes around, the whole country is enveloped in a holiday atmosphere–mothers delighted to greet the day and children offering congratulations to their mothers.

A variety of performances are also staged to celebrate the day.
