Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) — The 36th Plenary Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on July 3.
Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the SPA, presided over the plenary meeting.
Present there were vice-chairmen Kang Yun Sok and Kim Ho Chol and other members of the SPA Standing Committee.
On hand as observers were officials concerned of the SPA Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies.
The plenary meeting discussed as its agenda items the deliberation and adoption of the DPRK laws on the implementation of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy, on the biosafety and on medical appraisal of working abilities and the recall and election of judges and people’s assessors of the Supreme Court.
There took place a report on the main contents of the relevant draft laws deliberated by the SPA Legislation Committee.
On the basis of the study and discussion of the proposed bills, a decree of the SPA Standing Committee “On adopting the Law of the DPRK on Implementation of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy”, “On adopting the Law of the DPRK on Biosafety” and “On adopting the Law of the DPRK on Medical Appraisal of Working Abilities” were adopted with unanimous approval.
The plenary meeting recalled and elected judges and people’s assessors of the Supreme Court of the DPRK. -0-
