Today our country and people are significantly celebrating the founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The seventy-eight years of the DPRK is a history of revolution and struggle associated with the life-long devotion of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, who founded and developed our Republic in an independent way.
On September 9, 1948 after the liberation, President Kim Il Sung founded the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea by reflecting the will, aspirations and consensus of all the people and developed it into a socialist powerful country independent in politics, self-sufficient in economy and self-reliant in defense in a short period of history.
The idea and exploits of independence of President Kim Il Sung were firmly maintained and glorified by Chairman Kim Jong Il. During the grim period characterized by the extremes of tyrannical military threats and economic blockade of the imperialist allied forces, Chairman Kim Jong Il honorably safeguarded the national sovereignty and dignity under the banner of socialism.
Indeed, President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il are founders and patriots of our Republic who devoted their whole life to carve out and develop the destiny of the motherland and people independently.
Today the state-building ideas and exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, who built on this land an independent, self-reliant and self-defensive socialist state, shine for all ages thanks to the outstanding ideas and leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. Thus, our country and people continue to demonstrate their pride and glory of a great state and great people.
Under the leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the DPRK will as ever demonstrate to the world the dignity and prestige of an independent power and vigorously advance towards the overall development of socialism.
