The Korean Friendship Association of the UK picketed the US embassy in London on the 20th of June at 1800 hours to mark the 75th anniversary of the provocation of the Korean War (Great Victorious Fatherland Liberation War ) by the US imperialists and the start of the Month of Solidarity (June 25th to July 27th ) . Participating in the picket were KFA UK officials and members as well as progressives and anti-imperialists plus leadership members of the New Communist Party ,the Internationalist Communist Revolutionary Party a supporter of the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain Marxist -Leninist and the British Posadists.
A message of support was received from KFA Germany which was read out . In part the message said “ Until this day 30 000 US-soldiers occupy the southern part of the Korean peninsula. Until today the US have nuclear weapons stationed in South Korea and they still continue their aggressive military manoeuvres against the DPRK.
That is why it is so important to show solidarity with socialist Korea and openly fight against the US-aggression. Your picket here in front of the US-embassy here in London today is an important part in the fight against the US-imperialist aggression. “
KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson addressed the picket saying that “We are here today in front of the US Embassy , the embassy of the American empire , the empire of evil, because on the 25th of June it will be the 75th anniversary of the provocation of the Korean War by the US imperialists and their puppets .The Korean War never really ended because no peace treaty was ever concluded only an armistice.” Dr Hudson also said that the US imperialists wanted to invade the DPRK to destroy the socialist system but also to seize the valuable rare earth deposits of the DPRK .
KFA UK Organisation Secretary comrade Alan Bolon addressing the picket explained the nature of the US crimes in Korea . He praised the internationalist nature of the DPRK as well as its sturdy independence and the superiority of the socialist system.
DPRK flags and KFA UK banners were displayed prominently .
Picketer shouted “ US out of Korea ! “ , “Yankee Go Home! “, “ “ Down with US imperialism “ and “ Long Live People’s Korea !”
The picket concluded at 1915 hours.
